A. Sadly, no. We do not have an overriding code on any of our combination products for security reasons.

What we’re finding is that some dials are being set slightly off centre.

To check if this is the cause, please follow the below procedure:

1. Set the wheels to the combination you have tried setting it to.

2. Push and hold the button at the bottom.

3. While at the same time, use the pin provided and starting from the bottom wheel closest to the button, rotate the wheels slightly from left to right.

4. If the wheel sticks in place, leave it there and move on to the next wheel above.

5. You will find it will spring open as soon as you have positioned it correctly.

Once you have it in the open position, reset the wheels which are offline.

If the above steps don’t work or you have the model where you need to loosen a screw on the top of the lock, you will need to return the padlock to us. We will examine it under our 10-year guarantee.

Sadly, no. We do not do an overriding key for this situation.

The European Committee for Standardization, or the CEN, brings together the National Standardization Bodies of 34 European countries to promote harmonised standards throughout Europe. Together with CENELEC and ETSI, the CEN is one of three European Standardization Organizations officially recognised by the European Union and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) as being responsible for developing and defining voluntary standards at the European level.

Q. Is it possible to have multiple locks that can be unlocked with a single key?

Yes, this would be referred to as keyed alike.

Yes, this would be referred to as a Master keyed system. One authorised key holder can have the ‘master key’ to a series of locks under their control, those locks have individual keys as well as a ‘master key’.

Squire can supply additional locks for many of our ranges.

For our cylinders, we can only supply to match our ‘Stronghold’ range.

Please visit your nearest dealer with a key and details of your current lock. Please see our Stockists page for further details on dealers.

We recommend the use of a silicone-based spray to lubricate the lock. Never try to force the key as the key could snap off in the lock. Spray the lubricant directly in the keyway of the lock, once sprayed leave to soak for a few minutes. Once left to soak, gently wiggle the key until it begins to free up. Repeat the process if necessary until it becomes easier to turn.

We suggest monthly. This is to ensure the lock is working to its full capacity, regardless of the conditions of where the lock is applied.

Please contact us and we will be more than happy to give you more information.

In order to preserve the working life of your padlocks, we recommend good housekeeping of the product. We do advertise our products as suitable for harsh outdoor working environments, but we also temper this statement by asking the customer to provide regular maintenance by way of cleaning and oiling the lock on a regular basis.

Use a soft cotton cloth to clean affected external areas and spray the keyway monthly with a silicone-based lubricate.

Areas to concentrate on are:

1. Shackle bolt retention hole

2. Shackle bolt entry hole

3. Shackle bolt

4. Combination wheels – Combination locks

5. Press the release button – Combination locks

6. Keys – Keyed locks

7. Cylinder Area (Not just keyhole) – Keyed locks

8. Body area – Both combination and keyed locks

With combination locks, history has shown us that the two areas most likely to seize are the wheels and the press release button. To ease and remove any contamination, spray some lubricant on the wheels and then swiftly turn the wheels with fingers or the recoding tool. This usually gets rid of the contamination and frees the wheels. Then spray the button area and repeatedly press the button until you can feel it move.

With keyed locks, the cylinder area is the essential area to keep clean. Apply a liberal spray of lubricant into the cylinder and on the key. Then enter the key slowly but repeatedly and turn the key repeatedly to flush out any contamination.

Please contact your local locksmiths.
