How to choose a padlock for construction sites

A study conducted by On The Tools[i] revealed that four out of five tradespeople experience tool theft, costing them an average of £4,470 in equipment.

In addition, the National Federation of Builders (NFB), which represents regional contractors and small and medium sized house builders, has calculated that theft costs the industry almost £100m a year[ii], leading to the unfortunate closure of businesses.

With copper cabling, power tools and even heavy plant machinery targets for theft, it’s important to assess site security to ensure it’s as secure as possible.
